A wonderful Colima village scene from West Mexico, ca. 300 BC – 300 AD. It is mounted on a 5-1/2” diameter platform and consists of 2 houses and six figures. The dominant figure is a pregnant female leaning against one of the structures, her status is communicated via her relative size. An adorable Colima avian vessel from West Mexico, ca. 250 BC – 300 AD. This wonderful Comala style effigy vessel is 6-1/2” high, 7” wide and depicts a pair of conjoined ducks. They are nicely detailed, with wings on the sides and two-tone red slip. An excellent example of the type, highly burnished, with nice mineral deposits evident.

A large Chimu pectoral from Peru, ca. 1100 - 1450 AD. It consists of 32 pieces, 10 rings and 22 figural forms, each made of silver. They are perforated for suspension or attachment to the mantle of an elite individual. The pieces are lightly attached to heavy black fabric, with the layout measuring 22-1/2" x 16", with lots of extra textile to make framing easy. Great display.

A huge Bwoom Helmet mask from the Bushoong Kuba people of the D.R. Congo. According to legend, Bwoom was sent to Earth by his father (the great God Woot), to establish the Kuba kingdom. This enormous example is 15” high, 11-1/2” wide and is masterfully carved. The face is decorated with inlaid beads and has a finely polished patina. An impressive example with great presence.
