A fine Chupicuaro polychrome tripod dish from Mexico, ca. 400 – 100 BC. It is 3-1/2” in diameter and stands on a trio of mammiform legs that are decorated with intricate design patterns. The hollow legs contain rattles and the scalloped rim is set off with linear décor. Nicely burnished, good mineral deposits.

A lovely Nicoya figure from Costa Rica, ca. 300 BC – 300 AD. This rare Chaco Black on Red example is 5-3/4” high and depicts a female, seated with legs crossed and hands holding the belly. She is adorned with a segmented appliqué necklace and the characteristic body décor encircling the breasts, on the shoulders and face. The spine is protruding along the back.
