A large Nicoya figural vessel from Nicaragua, ca. 1000 – 1500 AD. It is 7” high. 7-1/4” wide and depicts an individual with one hand held to the side of his head, with the other resting on the outstretched leg. The face is nicely detailed, painted designs are used to indicate clothing and jewelry and there are rattles in the hollow legs. Overall in good condition, with vivid paint, strong mineral deposits, minor slip loss and a small repair.

An exceptionally large Colima figure from West Mexico, ca. 300 BC - 300 AD. It is 11" high and most likely depicts a ballplayer as indicated by the broad belt and headdress. He is adorned with a necklace, bracelets, perforated ears and a fancy headdress on the elongated head that is characteristic of the Tecoman types. Intact, with good mineral deposits.

A sweet LaTolita figure from the Santiago River area of Ecuador, ca. 500 BC - 500 AD. Its is 1-5/8" high and depicts a seated individual with one hand held to the head and the other resting on the knee. Intact, with the surface erosion typical of river/beach finds, good mineral deposits.

The dominant figure is a pregnant female leaning against one of the structures, her status is communicated via her relative size. There is also a figure on a funerary pallet and a hunched-over individual looking sideways. Two of the figures are located inside the houses, which are decorated with linear designs...

An adorable Colima avian vessel from West Mexico, ca. 250 BC – 300 AD. This wonderful Comala style effigy vessel is 6-1/2” high, 7” wide and depicts a pair of conjoined ducks. They are nicely detailed, with wings on the sides and two-tone red slip. An excellent example of the type, highly burnished, with nice mineral deposits evident.

This figure was stolen on December 11, from the Bella Gallery in Great Barrington, Mass., where it was part of a collection being exhibited.

A gorgeous Nayarit polychrome male, 6" tall. This Ixtlan del Rio variant, ca. 200 BC - 350 AD stands on bifurcated feet and is lavishly painted overall. An excellent example. Intact.
