A nice Chimu canteen from Peru, ca. 1100 – 1450 AD. This nicely detailed jug with intact loop handle is 6-1/8” high and features a shaman transformed into a serpent on one side and a group of sea birds on the other. Intact, nicely burnished, good mineral deposits.
